On this Father\u2019s day, I reach out to you, my Dad, with love, respect and a bank of fond memories\u2026<\/p>\n
We may be living apart. We may not meet that often. But my love and respect for you remains unchanged.<\/p>\n
What mom and you have done for us is worthy of the highest accolades. But the highest awards, medals, citations, certificates and recognitions will not suffice for someone\u00a0like you two. For what you have done for us goes far beyond tokenism.<\/p>\n
You are the persons who taught us our values. To believe, that we are all equal as human beings, regardless of caste, creed and community.<\/p>\n
You taught us to identify right from wrong. That choosing the correct\u00a0path is more important than the destination it takes us to.<\/p>\n
You are the persons who brought us up to believe in honesty and integrity over money and fame. That holding your head high was more valuable than all the materialistic wealth in the world.<\/p>\n
You taught us to understand that one does not need to be loud to be heard. That one can make a point without fighting or screaming\u2026 and prevail.<\/p>\n
You taught us the value of associating with the right people and choosing our friends carefully. The value of thinking with the heart, not the head.<\/p>\n
You taught us the value of enjoying our lives, without losing focus from our goals.<\/p>\n
You taught us to try our hardest at whatever we do, while at the same time to\u00a0not be disappointed when things didn’t turn out as we thought.<\/p>\n
You are the persons who financed our\u00a0flights of fancy. The ones who stepped in to help us out of many a sticky situation.<\/p>\n
You are the persons who taught us the value of giving without expecting… leading by example. The persons who made us realize that all the money\u00a0in the world could not buy one happiness.<\/p>\n
You may not know it, you may not feel it, you may not acknowledge it, but in the journey towards salvation from the circle of life and death, cause and effect\u2026 you\u2019re far ahead of many souls. For in the end it is not what we achieve here on earth, but what we will be judged for after, that matters most.<\/p>\n
I salute you.<\/p>\n
And despite the fact that we\u2019ve had our differences and moments of pain, the moments of happiness and joy that we have shared overshadow every such instance.<\/p>\n
I would like you to know that I love you. And I will always do so.<\/p>\n
